Councilman Jory Francis is Layton City's temporary mayor

Article Published 12/05/2013

Council member Jory Francis is serving as Layton’s temporary mayor for the coming weeks until mayor-elect Bob Stevenson takes office.

Francis was appointed mayor pro tem (temporary mayor in the elected mayor’s absence) by late Mayor Steve Curtis at the first of this year. Francis was elected to the City Council in 2011.

Stevenson will officially become mayor for the next four years, starting January 6, 2014, when he is sworn in.
