Bruce Davis (Eliminated) - Mayoral Candidate
Bruce served as a Navy Corpsman with the Marines at the end of the Vietnam War. He earned a B.S. in business from Weber State, an MBA from Utah State University, and a PhD from the University of Utah. From 1980 to 1990, Bruce worked as a compensation and labor relations executive, primarily at Rocky Mountain Power and ATK.
Bruce left corporate life in 1990 to teach and work full time in the business school at Weber State. He served as Director of the Center for Business and Economic Development from 1990 to 1999 and as Dean of the WSU Davis Campus in Layton (1999 to the present).
In 1994, Bruce co-founded an aerospace manufacturing company (One Stop Satellite Solutions) and served on its board until 2002. After the terrorist attacks of 9/11, Bruce returned to serve as the KVC for 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marines.
Bruce has been married to Valerie Davis for 42 years and they are the parents of 7 children. He has been a member of the Layton City Council for the past 4 years and has served on many community boards.
He is an active member of Vietnam Veterans of America, the Marine Corps Association, and the American Legion.
