Scott Freitag - Council Candidate
Thank you for researching this year’s candidates for Layton City Mayor and City Council members. This year we will choose our next mayor and three council members. Local municipal government has the responsibility to deliver the most basic services we need: water, sewer, garbage, roads, and public safety. Background – I am married (30 years) to Tammy, and we have four children, ages 17-27, and two daughters-in-law. We have been Layton residents for 26 years. Professionally I have been in various positions in public safety, mostly in Emergency Medical Services and 911. I have served on many boards, commissions, and committees on the local, county, state, and national level. I served as president of a not-for-profit scientific training and certification agency serving more than 60,000 public safety professionals around the world. My priorities on the council over the next four years include addressing public safety needs, and assuring adequate water resources, improving infrastructure such as roads, parks, and culinary water systems. Implementing and following the Layton General Plan, which will be completed this summer, is a top priority. I believe that my experience as a civil servant and dedicated elected official is valuable to Layton City, its employees, residents, and businesses.
