Joy Petro - Mayoral Candidate


Biography

Joy Petro believes it’s important to preserve Layton’s rich and diverse heritage while balancing future needs of the community. She lives in the historical home she restored, receiving Utah’s Excellence in Preservation award.

She graduated from Layton High and attended Weber State University. She was employed with Smith’s as the Advertising Director. She was also a Sales Executive with QuadGraphics. Her business background gives her expertise in planning, budgeting and negotiation.

She served as the Area Coordinator for Layton City’s Emergency Preparedness Program. She volunteered as a Precinct Chair, Senate Chair and elected to the State Central Committee. She was the recipient of the Ronald Reagan Community Award. She served as Chairman for the Layton Heritage Museum.

Joy is a member of the Layton Rotary Club and is currently serving as President. She is a Davis Arts Council Board Member and volunteers regularly at the Kenley Amphitheater and a member of the Davis Chamber of Commerce.

She collects antiques, cars and is a yard sale and auction enthusiast.
