UDOT road work update for Layton City

Road work in Layton is continuing on Antelope Drive, near North Layton Junior High School and also the South Gate to Hill Air Force Base.
-UDOT Crews are widening Antelope Drive, from University Park Boulevard to 2200 West. Beginning Sunday, April 5, through Saturday April 11, traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction during night hours as crews install pipe across Antelope Drive.
Additionally, night work will be occurring at Robins Drive through the rest of the week, April 3-9, while crews install new drainage boxes.
Finally, in anticipation of the new curb and gutter, night crews will be removing existing soil material throughout the project and backfilling those areas with a granular material. Other work, such as pedestrian ramps, utilities and signaling work is also taking place on the shoulders presently in the area of North Layton Junior High.
Some intermittent closing of turn lanes may be necessary, and right turn pockets may occasionally close.

-Construction at South Gate Drive and Balmer Road on Hill Air Force Base is scheduled to continue through June 15. The project will add an additional lane of traffic to the outbound side of the South Gate.
During construction, there will be intermittent closures to one lane of traffic at the South Gate and South Gate Drive between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.  
In order to accommodate peak traffic during the lunch period, the Southwest Gate on 6th Street will be open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. during construction. The Southwest Gate is closed on federal holidays and AFMC Family days. Drivers are asked to be patient and cautious during the construction and more information will be made available if schedules shift during the project.
