UDOT open house on US-89 improvements June 20 at Layton High School

Article Published 06/14/2017
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will hold an open house on Tuesday, June 20, 4:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m., at Layton High School, 440 Wasatch Drive, to present conceptual alternative designs for the State Environmental Study addressing the future expansion of US-89.
UDOT Project Manager Michael Romero said these conceptual alternatives have been developed following initial public input and have been evaluated based on three basic criteria: reasonable access, travel demand, and their compatibility with network roadway classification. He said the open house will be an opportunity for the community to express their opinions on which of these concepts are preferred, and should move forward for more detailed study.
“Given that there are so many feasible options, we’re eager to get feedback from those who will be directly impacted by any changes,” Romero said.
He said the public is invited to visit the open house at any time during the meeting to participate in discussion about the environmental study and the future expansion of US-89. Members of the study team, including the project manager, traffic engineers and public information coordinators, will be available to discuss ideas and suggestions from those in attendance.
The public is encouraged to visit the project website at:
