Traffic Checkpoint Planned in Layton

The Layton Police Department will hold an Administrative Traffic Checkpoint on November 30, 2007 from 10 P.M. until 3 A.M. on December 1, 2007.  The checkpoint will be held at 1544 West 2000 North in Layton. 


This operation is in an effort to promote highway safety and deter those who violate traffic safety laws.  The checkpoint will focus on detecting drivers who may be operating a vehicle in violation of the Utah Traffic and Criminal Code.  Some of the offenses officers will be checking for are: Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs, Insurance and Registration Violations, Driver’s License Violations, and other Vehicle Safety Violations. 


The Utah Highway Patrol, Davis County Sheriff’s Office, and other surrounding police agencies will provide officers to assist with the checkpoint.
