Public Works kept busy with 3 big projects

Article Published 10/02/2008

Three large reconstruction projects kept crews with the City's Public Works Department busy this past construction season, officials report.

• The Gentile Street reconstruction from 2200 West to 3700 West reopened in late September. The project involved complete road excavation for reconstruction and utility modification from 2200 West to 3700 West (the western Layton border), and installation of a new traffic signal at 3200 West.

Cold Creek Way is now open to the public. The new road segment to Gentile Street has been paved.

• The University Park Boulevard project is scheduled to be completed by Oct. 27. The project from Antelope to the Layton City/Clearfield City border near Weber State University has two phases. Phase I is complete and crews are now working on removal of existing asphalt and the installation of a land drain line from Antelope Drive to 2250 North. Access to all businesses and homes will be maintained within the project limits during construction.
