Full I-15 closure overnight in Layton this weekend, Jan. 26-29
From Friday, Jan. 26 through Sunday, Jan. 29, crews will place steel beams over I-15 as part of the Layton Midtown Crossing bridge construction. All north and southbound lanes will be closed between Hill Field Road and Antelope Drive to allow room for work and ensure the safety of drivers and crew members.
The northbound on-ramps at Layton Parkway and Hill Field Road and the southbound on-ramp at Antelope Drive will also be closed. These closures will happen during three consecutive nights:
-Friday, Jan. 26, at 11 p.m. to Saturday, Jan. 27, at 8 a.m.
-Saturday, Jan. 27, at 11 p.m. to Sunday, Jan. 28, at 9 a.m.
-Sunday, Jan. 28, at 10 p.m. to Monday, Jan. 29, at 5 a.m.
Crews will begin closing lanes up to two hours in advance to prepare for the full closure. Detours will be in place during this operation.
Northbound traffic detours
Northbound I-15: Traffic will be diverted to Hill Field Road and back onto I-15 at Antelope Drive.
Layton Parkway northbound on-ramp: Traffic will be diverted to Main Street and back onto I-15 at Antelope Drive.
Hill Field Road northbound on-ramp: Traffic will be diverted to Hill Field Road and back onto I-15 at Antelope Drive.
Southbound traffic detours
Southbound I-15: Traffic will be diverted to Antelope Drive and back onto I-15 at Layton Parkway.
Antelope Drive southbound on-ramp: Traffic will be diverted to Main Street and back onto I-15 at Layton Parkway.
Please follow all detour signs and drive cautiously through the construction zone.
Next weekend: 2 lanes will be closed on northbound I-15 – overnights on Feb. 2 - 4 and Feb. 5 - 6, crews will continue setting steel beams on the east side of I-15. To accomplish this work, northbound I-15 will be reduced to one lane. The northbound on-ramp at Hill Field Road and the frontage road on the east side of I-15 will also be closed during this time.
