Naturalist volunteers needed in Layton and Kaysville

Article Published 02/01/2018
Volunteer Naturalist Guides are needed at both the Great Salt Lake Shorelands Preserve in Layton and the Wetlands Discovery Point in Kaysville.
If you love the outdoors and/or teaching children about nature, then you are needed for the Wings & Water Wetlands Education Program.
Volunteer times are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays during the months of April, May, September and October.
The dates to train volunteers are Tuesday mornings starting on Feb. 27 and going through March 5.
Volunteers will conduct fieldtrips for 4th graders from around the Wasatch Front. They will also teach topics like water, plants, animals, and soil to help students gain appreciation for the Great Salt Lake wetlands.
Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Also, this is a year long commitment and requires 15 hours of mandatory training and a commitment to lead at least six 2 1/2 hour tours.
