Administrative Traffic Checkpoint Scheduled in Layton

In an effort to promote highway safety and deter those who violate traffic safety laws the Layton Police Department will be operating an Administrative Traffic Checkpoint (ATC) on 09-01-06. This checkpoint will be held at 500 North Main Street in Layton from 10 pm until 3 am. The administrative traffic checkpoint has the primary purpose of inspecting, verifying, or detecting:

  • Drivers that may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • License plates, registration certificates, insurance certificates, or drivers' licenses
  • Any other violations that present a danger to the public at large
Officers from Layton Police Department, Clearfield Police Department and Syracuse Police Department will be staffing the checkpoint. In addition, members of the Utah Highway Patrol will provide technical support.
