Article Published 10/16/2013
Clean out your medicine cabinet!
Saturday, Oct. 26 is the day to bring your unused/outdated over-the-counter and prescription medications to one of eight locations in Davis County -- including one in Layton – for proper disposal.
Such medicines should not be flushed down the toilet, or placed in trash cans.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Oct. 26, bring your drugs to discard to the Layton Smith’s Store, 1170 East Gentile Street.
They can also be taken during those same hours to other Smith’s stores in the area: Syracuse (951 West 1700 South); Farmington (1316 North Highway 89); Sunset (2353 North Main Street) and Bountiful (555 South 200 West).
In addition, medicines can be dropped off at Hill Air Force Base Commissary (7451 Sixth Street) and at the Base Exchange (5845 East Avenue, Building 412) on the same day/hours.
-And, if Oct. 26 doesn’t meet your schedule, there is a self-service drug disposal box in the Layton City Police Department lobby, 429 North Wasatch Drive, at all hours.
