Voluntary secondary water conservation urged this year

Article Published 05/28/2014

With the severe  drought in 2013, the Davis and Weber Counties Canal Company (DWCCC) had to impose watering restrictions to ensure that there was sufficient irrigation water to make it through the summer.  For the 2014 irrigation season, DWCCC has removed the irrigation restrictions.  However with the rivers and lakes still recovering from the drought, DWCCC is encouraging property owners to voluntarily follow the same watering schedule as last season until further notice.
This means:
-No watering between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily.
-The schedule will be based on the last digit in your house number for watering as follows:
Residential house numbers that end in 0, 1, 2, or 3 will water on MONDAY AND THURSDAY, WEEKLY.
Residential house numbers that end in 4, 5, or 6 will water on TUESDAY AND FRIDAY, WEEKLY.
Residential house numbers that end in 7, 8, or 9 will water on WEDNESDAY AND SATURDAY, WEEKLY.
-If voluntary conservation practices are found not to be effective enough to reduce water demands, depending on water availability, DWCCC may be forced to resort to enforcement with restrictions.
-OVERWATERING OR WASTING WATER NEEDS TO BE REPORTED TO THE Office of DWCCC, 801-774-6373.
-Permits for exceptions can be requested at the company office.
