Layton Police Recover Stolen Property, Arrest Two
Layton- In the early morning hours of 12-19-07, Layton Police responded to a suspicious person call in the area of 1025 North 2575 West. Police located and arrested Rudolfo Gentil (32) after realizing that he had a felony warrant. Gentil was listed as the Top of Utah’s Most Wanted person in the Standard Examiner Newspaper. Patrol officers located a stolen laptop computer in Gentil’s possession.
Layton Detectives were called to the scene to assist with the case. Through the investigation of this case and the stolen computer, detectives went to a house located at 1130 North 350 West. At this residence, detectives located Jeffrey Todd Hughes (41). Detectives were able to search this residence and inside they located stolen property from several burglaries in the area. There have been a number of business, home, and construction site burglaries over the past month in the Layton area. Property from these burglaries was located in and around the home at 1130 North 350 West.
Detectives have recovered at least two truckloads of stolen property, valued in the thousands. Some of the property recovered includes: computers, computer monitors, medical equipment, tools, radios, and much more. This morning, detectives have been contacting the victims of these burglaries and having them identify their property.
Rudolfo Gentil was booked into the Davis County Jail on: Possession of Stolen Property 2nd degree felony, possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree felony, possession of drug paraphernalia Class B, providing false information Class A, possession of another’s identification Class A, and a felony warrant.
Jeffrey Todd Hughes was booked into the Davis County Jail on a No Bail Felony Warrant. More charges are likely following the completion of this investigation.###
