Layton City’s population growth over the years

Layton City hasn’t always been Davis County’s largest population center. Before World War II, it was just a sleepy, small farming community of 646 residents.
Today, it exceeds 72,000 in total population and could overtake Ogden, in the decades ahead, as the largest city north of Salt Lake City.
Layton City has now reached about 70 percent of “buildout" (its maximum estimated population).
