3217 - Employee Use of Surf-N-Swim

Background

For several years, the City has provided employees and their family a benefit of annual passes to the Surf-N-Swim recreational facility for an annual fee of $60.00. In 1996, employees were able to sign up for a commitment of a year at a time through payroll deduction. Effective July 1, 1997, the annual fee for employees and their family increased to $70.00

Definition

Surf-N-Swim facility consists of the wave pool, swimming pool, racquetball courts, steam room, and sauna. It does not include recreation programs, use of inner tubes, and the employee fitness room.

Users and Fees

Regular and Paid-On-Call city employees, and members of the City Council, Planning Commission, Board of Adjustment, and Parks Commission may purchase a family pass to Surf-N-Swim for a reduced fee.

The Planning Commission, Board of Adjustment, and Parks Commission can pay a reduced non-refundable fee of $70.00 in advance and employees will commit to a payroll deduction of $2.69 per pay period.

Retired employees with at least ten (10) years service with the City may also participate in this benefit upon advance payment of the $70.00 non-refundable annual fee. A pass for the retired employee's spouse is included in this cost.

Annual fees are subject to change from year to year.
