Layton Community Band

An inside perspective:

Not knowing what to expect as I signed up with the band, I was reluctant to see if I still had the chops to play the trumpet. At first it was a nightmare, trying to hit the same notes I recalled from high school days. But just as expected, lots of practice has proven me able and excited to participate. Knowing that there are others who haven’t played for over 30 years helped me feel a little more comfortable. It was similar to getting back on a bike. I just had to crash a few times to get in the swing of it……..Todd Neville, trumpet player.

Myths about the band:
  1. Auditions are required: absolutely not true. We take you as you are.
  2. You can only sign up at the beginning of the year: On the contrary, practices are held year-round with breaks throughout the year.
  3. You have to be at every practice to be eligible: Not so. We realize there are times you may not be able to attend. Come when you can.
