Allen Swanson

Biography

Assistant Chief Allen Swanson is an eighteen year veteran of law enforcement, having started his career in 1990 as an agent with the Indiana State Alcoholic Beverage Commission. In 1992 he joined the Layton City Police Department and has served in various divisions, including ten years with the SWAT team and four and a half years as the Commander of the Davis Metro Narcotics Strike Force. Assistant Chief Swanson is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, the DEA Drug Unit Commanders Academy, and a graduate of Weber State University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He and his wife Michelle reside in Layton and have two children.
