Baseball/Softball Equipment Exchange: Donations Needed

Layton City Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce the Third Annual Geni Hyde Equipment Exchange Program for baseball and softball equipment and clothing.  The Equipment Exchange is a free program that collects used baseball and softball equipment and then distributes that equipment to those in need of it.  Equipment donations are the foundation of the program and are very much needed.  Donations will be accepted at the Layton City Parks and Recreation Office, 465 N Wasatch Dr, Layton now through March 23, 2012.  All types and sizes of equipment are needed including mitts, cleats and pants.  Equipment must be clean and free of stains, rips and tears.  This is a great way to help jump start spring cleaning, and also contribute to a worthy cause.  Some kids do without equipment or clothing and many make do with things that are too small or too big.  Let’s see what we can do to help!


The Third Annual Equipment Exchange will be held on Saturday, March 24 at the Central Davis Jr. High School gym, 663 North Church Street from 12:00pm – 2:00pm.  Families are invited to come and pick up needed items for the upcoming baseball and softball season.  Donations are strongly encouraged and will be accepted during this time.  For any questions call the Parks and Recreation Department, 801-336-3900.
