Passports
Layton City is a Passport Acceptance facility designated by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs.

Passport Hours
Processing hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (closed major holidays). By appointment only. Applications must be completed prior to 11:00 am for same-day application processing. Applicants are encouraged to complete ALL application forms in black ink prior to arriving at City Hall.
Process
- All applicants must appear in person at time of application.
- Applications for children 16 and 17 years of age require the presence and signature of one parent.
- Applications for children under 16 require the presence and signature of both parents. If both parents are not available to sign, please see additional requirements at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/apply-renew-passport/under-16.html (reference step 5 - Show More Documents) .
Requirements
These are the items and documents you should bring with you to submit your passport application.

A color passport photo - must be taken within the last six months and meet government requirements.
- Photo service available at Layton City for $10 each.

Proof of Identity, such as:
- Government, military, or state identification card
- Previous passport
- Valid driver license
- Parent's identification for a child's passport (under age 16)

Proof of Citizenship:
- Original or Certified Copy of Birth Certificate (hospital issued birth certificates are not accepted)
- Original Certificate of Naturalization
- Original Certificate of Citizenship
- Previous U.S. Passport book or card
- Social Security Number
- A check (personal, certified, cashier's) or money orders made payable to 'U.S. Department of State' for the application fee (one for each application).
- Cash, check, credit or debit card to pay for your Acceptance Fees to Layton City.
