Layton City is currently accepting applications for a Planning Commission vacancy. The Planning Commission plays a vital role in shaping development within the City and verifying compliance with the Municipal Code and the General Plan. The Commission reviews, approves, and makes recommendations to the City Council for land use applications such as conditional use permits, preliminary subdivisions, development plans, and zoning code amendments.

Fireworks restrictions established by the Utah State Fire Marshal are as follows: the discharge of fireworks is allowed on Saturday, December 31^st  from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 1^st.   If you have additional questions, more information and an interactive map can be found at https://firemarshal.utah.gov/department-services/fireworks/

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Layton City Council will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Layton City Center, 437 North Wasatch Drive, regarding Amendments to the Budget for Fiscal Year 2022-2023. Persons in attendance shall be given an opportunity to be heard regarding the amendments. Copies of the amendments to the 2022-2023 Budget are on file and available to the public in the office of the City Recorder.

In 2015, Layton City voters approved the RAMP tax initiative, allowing for dedicated Recreation, Arts, Museums, and Parks (RAMP) funding for programs or facilities in Layton City. The Layton City RAMP Advisory Commission is pleased to announce that 2023 RAMP Grant Applications are now open for interested and qualified organizations. Deadline for application submission is January 3, 2023. Entities eligible for RAMP funding must meet one of the organizational criteria listed below.

The Layton City Active Transportation Plan is moving forward!  Based on what was heard from the public in April 2022, the City has developed a draft network of proposed improvements, and desires a second round of public feedback.
