Layton City Storm Cleanup Update

Article Published 12/07/2011
Cleanup efforts in Layton from last week’s wind storm are well under way and continuing.  City crews continue their focus on public property damage while residents and neighborhood groups are tackling debris removal on private property.  Residents and volunteers continue to demonstrate an exemplary level of self-reliance, teamwork, and community service.  Thanks to all for your incredible response.   We can be proud of how our community comes together and helps each other in times of need.

Volunteer help to remove debris from private property is being coordinated through the City’s twelve District Coordinators.   To request volunteer assistance for debris removal on private property, please contact your volunteer Block Captain, Area or District Coordinator.  If you don’t know who these people are in your area and would like volunteer assistance, please call the Management Services Department at (801) 336-3820.

City crews will not be assisting with clearing debris from private property.  Residents are responsible to clear and transport their own debris to the Wasatch Integrated Waste Landfill.  The Landfill is open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, and will be accepting loads of clean, green waste from Layton residents free of charge through Saturday, December 17, 2011.  Loads that include other debris will be charged the usual fees.
