Replica Vietnam Memorial Planned for Layton Commons Park

Layton, Utah (March 30, 2015) – The Utah Vietnam Veterans of America in partnership with Layton City are excited to announce the planned construction of a Vietnam Veterans Memorial Replica Wall in Layton City. The Memorial Wall, an 80% replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial located in Washington D.C. will be located at the north end of Layton City Commons Park at 465 North Wasatch Drive, Layton. The structure which is made out of anodized aluminum reaches eight feet tall at its apex and spans 360 feet in length.

This will be the second replica of its kind constructed in the United States. The wall contains all 58,300 names of the servicemen and women who gave their lives in service in the Vietnam Conflict. Layton City is honored to be the site chosen for the wall which will stand as a monument honoring all Vietnam era veterans and their families.

Construction on the project is slated to begin in the spring of 2016. Currently the Utah Vietnam Veterans of America is working to raise the funds needed to complete the project.
