Kirsten Jacobson - Council Candidate




Kirsten Jacobson was raised in Gilbert, Arizona, and moved to Utah following graduation from College. She has lived in Layton for 7 years, currently residing right down the street from Hill AFB with her husband and two children. She is a business owner and therapist here in Layton.

Kirsten has worked in Social Work for nearly 15 years in a variety of settings including: addiction, outpatient therapy, refugee services, public housing, and foster care. In 2008, she was awarded the 'Rising Star' award by the Mayor of Phoenix for creating a summer program for youth living in the city's public housing. In 2010, she was awarded the Governor's Award for Excellence in Humanitarianism for her work on a program designed to train refugees in language and employment services.

Kirsten currently owns a private practice in Layton, where she has dedicated her time to treating trauma for individuals who have experienced loss, abuse, assault and suicide. She is dedicated to supporting business owners, and buying local.

Mission statement: To improve services for business owners, public health and public safety (particularly in victim services), to ensure that Layton continues to be the best place to raise our families in Davis County.
