Municipal General Election information

LAYTON — The Municipal General Election will be held Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, to elect a mayor and two city council members. Candidate information may be found on the City website.
Davis School District Bond Election
The Davis School District will hold a bond election in conjunction with the November 3rd Municipal Election. Information about the bond election may be found on the School District website, www.davis.k12.ut.us.
A new law requires voters to present identification at the polls in order to vote. A complete list of accepted identification items may be found on the City website. The list includes a current Utah driver license, a current U.S. passport, or a current state or federal I.D. (see Utah Code 20A-1-102).
Layton City will conduct early voting in conjunction with the Nov. 3, 2009, General Election, at the Layton City Center, 437 N. Wasatch Dr., Layton, Utah. Dates and times are as follows:
Tuesday, Oct. 20 – 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 21 – 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 22 – 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 23 – 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 27 – 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 28 – 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 29 – 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 30 – 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Residents may register to vote at the Davis County Clerk’s Office in Farmington or by downloading the mail-in voter registration form at elections.utah.gov. Mail-in registration forms must be postmarked no later than Oct. 5 to vote in the General Election. Voter registration, precinct number and polling locations can be verified at (https://gva1.utah.gov/ elections/polling.aspx).
Any person who is registered to vote may vote by absentee ballot. The absentee ballot application is available online at: elections.utah.gov/absentee%20form.pdf. For the Municipal General Election, mail the completed application to:

Completed applications must be received by the following dates:
1. Applications by mail from overseas – Oct. 14, 2009
2. Application by mail from U.S. – Oct. 30, 2009
3. In person in the City Recorder’s Office – Oct. 20 to Oct. 30
4. Hospitalized Persons – Either #2 above, or with special assistance on Election Day
