City adopts new standards and approved tree list for park strips

Article Published 02/23/2016

While the City encourages the planting of trees in park strips and along street frontages, it is important to avoid conflicts between tree plantings and public improvements such as sidewalks, curbs and gutters.  Tree growth and root expansion can damage these improvements causing them to heave and become broken creating potential hazards.  In order to avoid these conflicts and damages, the City has established a list of trees that maybe planted within park strips and along street frontages.

Permitted Street Trees - This is a table of trees that are permitted to plant within the park strip and along frontages.
Municipal Code 19.16.075 - The city code that addresses the zoning for trees within park strips and along frontages.
