3501 - Employee Conduct - General

Employee Conduct - General

All City employees are expected to conduct themselves in such a manner as to bring credit to them and to the City.  To this end, they are expected to be courteous and cooperative at all times with the citizens of Layton City, their fellow employees, their supervisors, and others who may, for any reason, contact the City.  Employees are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and competent manner appropriate to their position, whether on or off duty.  They are expected to strive for cleanliness and neatness at all times in personal appearance and at their workstation, appropriate with their position and job duties.

City employees are expected to be honest in word and conduct at all times during which the City may be affected.  Lying relative to any matter arising out of job responsibility or any matter that would compromise the employee’s credibility may result in termination.   Employees are expected to safeguard confidential information and will be held responsible for improper disclosure of any proprietary information.  Further, employees are expected to never use their position in any way to privately benefit themselves or another party, either through the disclosure of confidential information, the award of work, procurement of supplies, or the use of City facilities and resources.
