2014 Utah Click It or Ticket Campaign

Article Published 05/15/2014

2014 Utah Click It or Ticket Campaign May 19 - June 1, 2014 - ALWAYS BUCKLE UP!

The Layton Police Department is joining forces with other police and sheriff's departments across Utah to enforce seat belt laws and educate citizens to increase seat belt use. Every year across America, thousands of lives are lost in traffic accidents simply because the occupants were not wearing seat belts.

Utah's Click It or Ticket Campaign began in 2000, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates close to 1,800 lives have been saved in Utah because of the campaign and enforcement mobilization. Layton officers will be working "seat belt enforcement" shifts during this campaign, and tickets will be issued to anyone who isn't wearing a seat belt.

Our goal is not to issue citations, but rather to educate citizens and save lives. Don't put you and your family at a 70% greater risk of injury or death by not wearing your seat belts. BUCKLE UP!
