Claude Young is a 26-year resident of Layton, a Vietnam veteran, and a retired Hill Air Force Base professional who brings a lifelong record of service, integrity, and leadership to the community. With decades of military and civic experience, Claude is committed to supporting Layton's families, neighborhoods, and long-term vitality. He has no ties to developers or special interest groups and is deeply focused on what matters most to local residents.
As a devoted father of two sons living locally, Claude is personally invested in the city's future. He has actively attended Layton City Council meetings and work sessions to stay informed and engaged. Claude believes good governance begins with listening, preparation, and accountability.
On the Council, Claude supports open government, transparent decision-making, and continued collaboration with residents and community groups. His priorities include maintaining sustainable water resources, improving accessibility in local government, and addressing community challenges—including homelessness—with compassion and common sense.
