Tom Day is a lifelong, fourth generation resident of Layton. He is a descendant or Christopher Layton for whom Layton was named. He was raised by his parents, Bill and Carol Ann Day, attending Layton schools, graduating from Layton High School. He is an Eagle Scout.

Following high school he served a two year church mission in Honduras. He graduated from Utah State University with a BS in Plant Science – Agronomy and a BA in Spanish.

From a young age Tom worked with his father on the farm and in construction, which taught him the value of hard work. He is currently co-owner of Day Farms.

Tom was elected to the Farm Service Agency county committee where he served for many years, for the last few as chairman.

He is an outdoorsman who enjoys horses, camping, hunting and fishing.

It’s been an honor for him to serve the citizens these past four years on the City Council, focusing on the Planning Commission, Youth Court and Youth Council and the Layton Community Action Council. Tom wants to continue giving the residents of Layton the opportunity to elect somebody who will truly give them a voice.
