Plan to Stay in Business - Free Ready Your Business Workshop March 5th

Article Published 02/04/2015
Layton City businesses are invited to attend the upcoming Ready Your Business Workshop to be held on Thursday, March 5th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Layton City Council Chambers.  This course is provided at NO COST and will include a “light breakfast”.  Matt Beaudry from the State Division of Emergency Management, will present a 12 Point Program to Business Continuity Planning to better prepare you and your business to successfully weather the effects of a natural or man-made disaster.

When business is disrupted, it can cost money.  Lost revenues plus extra expenses means reduced profits.  Insurance does not cover all costs and cannot replace customers that defect to the competition.  A business continuity plan to continue business is essential.

The 12 Points to be discussed are:
1.  Create a Planning Team / Continuity of Authority
2.  Identify Risks and Hazards
3.  Determine Essential Business Functions
4.  Rate Your Vulnerabilities
5.  Communications
6.  Vital Records
7.  Identify Internal Resources and Capabilities
8.  Workplace Evacuation and Sheltering Plans
9.  Insurance Coverage
10.  Cyber Security Measures
11.  Data Protection / Storage / Recovery
12.  Workplace Emergency Supplies Cache
