Layton City has two sewer line projects planned this year, with one underway on Colonial Drive and another set to start later this spring on Oak Lane.
Work started April 29 on the sewer construction project for Colonial Drive, from Lindsay Street to Adams Street.
Only local traffic is allowed in the work zone. A few neighboring roads may sometimes be affected by the work. There may also be some minor detours as posted.
This project replaces the 6-inch sewer main with an 8-inch pipe.
Completion is expected by the end of August.
Phase two affects Oak Lane, where an 8-inch sewer line is being replaced and relocated from front yards into the street, from approximately 2100 East to 2350 East.
That project begins June 10 and should also be finished by the end of August.
Layton City has contracted with Brinkerhoff Excavating for both sewer projects.
