No Layton City employee shall knowingly operate a City motor vehicle or piece of equipment which he or she believes has had inadequate maintenance or is unsafe. If an employee has reason to believe that a vehicle or piece of equipment is unsafe, it shall be reported to his or her supervisor immediately. Prior to any further use, the vehicle or equipment shall be checked and, if necessary, repaired. All maintenance and/or repair work should be documented.
Proper Securing of Loads
Drivers of City vehicles shall be responsible to adequately secure items or loads in their vehicles so they do not fall off in transit.
Any employee who disregards these directives may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
