Need something fun this winter? Try Layton's Surf 'n Swim

Looking for something fun and healthy to do this winter?
Layton City Parks and Recreation would like to remind the public that the Surf ‘n Swim is open year-round and offers a variety of activities and programs for all ages.
Searching for a way to get in exercise while staying out of the cold winter weather?
Try lap swim, or a game of racquetball.
Need something for the toddlers to do while the older kids are at school?
Come in for the open plunge afternoon hours.
Looking for a low cost evening activity for the family?
Check out the open wave hours, including family night and dollar night.
The Surf ‘n Swim Wave Pool is open year round. During the winter the pool is covered by a heated bubble allowing for year round swimming activities. Lap Swim is open Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. to noon; Monday through Thursday 9-10 p.m.; and Saturday mornings, 7 a.m.to  noon.
Surf ‘n Swim has two racquetball courts which can also be converted into wallyball courts. Courts are available by reservation through the Surf ‘n Swim front desk.
Open plunge is a good activity for younger kids who may be nervous around the waves at the pool.  During open plunge the waves do not turn on. Open plunge is open on weekdays from noon to 3 p.m. Admission is $3 and children three years old and younger are free. Open wave is a fun activity for the whole family or groups. Open wave hours are Monday through Friday 6-8:45 p.m. and Saturdays, noon to 6:45 p.m.
Monday night is family night and five people can gain entry for only $10, while Wednesday night is dollar night, with pool admission only $1 per person.
Surf ‘n Swim also offers swim lesson programs throughout the winter. Winter swim lessons tend to have smaller class sizes than summer lessons. Swimming lessons are offered after school hours, with classes starting at 4:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.
-For a complete listing of swim lesson dates and times visit www.laytoncity.org and follow the Surf ‘n Swim link. For additional information about Surf ‘n Swim events and hours visit the Layton City web site or call 801-336-3939.
