Road work update: Layton Crossing project set to begin

Construction is beginning on a new east-west connection across I-15, between SR-126 (Main Street) and Hill Field Road. Crews will begin utility work and mobilizing equipment to the I-15 Layton Crossing project area on Wednesday, July 5.  Construction crews are now beginning to mobilize on the site and more construction activities will be happening over the next few weeks.

-Crews are completing final work on SR-232 (Hill Field Road) from SR-193 to 1225 North. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction from Antelope Drive and 1225 North while crews complete final utility work and install permanent lane striping. Most work will be completed at night, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with minimal lane closures. There may be some impacts to residents from night work, including noise, light and vibrations.

-Work continues on a project resurfacing SR-193, the Bernard Fisher Highway, from Hill Field Road (SR-232) to US-89.  Crews will work through Saturday morning, July 1, then work will cease until Wednesday, July 5. Crews will resume work that evening to complete roadway signage and utility work. The project is expected to be complete by mid-July.
