New Booster Seat Legislation

The Layton City Police Department would like to notify you that Utah’s revised Child Restraint Law goes into effect May 4, 2008. The law “requires that the operator of a motor vehicle shall provide for the protection of a person younger than eight years of age by using an appropriate child restraint device.” An exemption to the new Child Restraint Law is “a child under eight years of age who is 57 inches or taller is exempt from the requirement to be in a child restraint device and shall use a properly adjusted and fastened seat belt.”

If you are on WIC, Baby Your Baby or Medicaid call Doug Bitton @ 336-3940 to see if you qualify to receive a free booster seat.
