Sewer Line Upgrade Project

Article Published 08/08/2011

Layton - August 8, 2011

Layton City is upgrading the sewer line and water line on Fort Lane & Gentile St. The old 6.0 inch clay sewer pipe is deteriorating and will be replaced with new 8.0 inch PVC sewer pipe which will help to prevent future problems within this area. The water line and valves will be replaced on Gentile St. and approximately 200 ft. to the south on Fort Lane. New connections to homes & businesses within this project area will need to be made. Efforts are being made to reduce the down time to water and sewer services this may cause to the residents along Fort Lane, however, there may be times that services will be temporarily halted in order to complete the necessary connections. A 24 hour advance notice will be given to residents that are affected by any temporary loss to services. This work will begin on Monday, August 8, 2011 and will last for approximately 5 to 6 weeks, following this time period the roadway on Fort Lane will be resurfaced.

A storm drain system will also be added on Elm Street from the east side of 490 E. St. and connect to the existing storm drain on Fort Lane. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have on the residents in this area. If you have any questions or concerns please contact: Alan Moss, 801-336-3704.
