Name the Splash Pad Dragon Contest

Article Published 05/08/2013

Layton City is holding a "naming contest" for the water dragon at the new splash pad.  The splash pad, located at Ellison Park, 700 N 2200 W, is currently under construction and scheduled to be completed this summer. The splash pad consists of a raised play structure and several ground level water elements. The raised structure includes the dragon head, with the loops and tail of the water dragon coming out of the play surface nearby.

Now that the splash pad is under construction, it's time to come up with a permanent name for the water dragon of the splash pad!  The person who submits the winning name will receive a Surf 'n Swim Annual Family Pass.  The Family Pass is valid for one year from the date of the award and good for a family of up to five (5) members for entry into Surf 'n Swim.

Name ideas must be submitted by 5:00pm on Friday, June 14, 2013.  Please submit entries by mail to Layton City Parks and Recreation, 465 N Wasatch Dr, Layton Utah 84041 or online by clicking on the link below.

Vote for your favorite dragon name on Layton City's Facebook page June 17 - 19.  Final winner will be determined by the Layton City Council.
