Layton road work update: Antelope Drive closures coming June 22-24

Article Published 06/19/2015

Nighttime closures of Antelope Drive and I-15 will occur June 22-24 as construction there finishes up. These closures will take place from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. on those three nights, while crews install the overhead signage near the bridge over I-15.
On Monday, June 22, eastbound Antelope Drive will be closed at the west end of the bridge over I-15.  Then, on Tuesday, June 23, the northbound off-ramp will be closed. Finally, on Wednesday, June 24, the full length of the bridge, both east and westbound travel, will be closed. Alternate routes will be marked. Watch the electronic message boards along Antelope Drive in advance of closures.  With few exceptions, this will wrap up construction on Antelope Drive.
-Work is also commencing on improvements in the vicinity of I-15 and Hill Field Road (SR-232). Utility companies are currently improving their infrastructure in advance of this project while crews are preparing the ground near the freeway on and off ramps.
They have also begun constructing the ThrU-Turn bulb-out on Hill Field Road near Gordon Avenue on the east side of Layton Hills Mall. Mall patrons should plan to use Gordon Avenue or 1225 North to exit the mall.
Expect narrowed lanes (11 feet) and an adjusted driving pattern throughout the corridor as early as June 22. For more information, visit: udot.utah.gov/LaytonImproved.
-One other Layton intersection, Hill Field Road and U-193, will be affected by road work on Friday, June 19, as UDOT will switch the signal over at the HAFB South Gate intersection.
Motorists with time-sensitive travel should use alternate routes and there will be delays related to the signal switchover. The intersection will remain open, but the Utah Highway Patrol will be directing traffic.
