The Youth Fishing Club is a 6-week course held in the evenings late August through September. Each class is 2 hours, with the first half hour of instruction and the remaining one and a half hours of fishing. Classes will be held at the Andy Adams Community Fishery, located at 1800 E Gordon Ave, Layton. A volunteer adult instructor will be supervising and working with the participants in groups of five or six. Participants are asked to provide their own fishing poles, but if they do not have them a limited number of poles will be available through the Layton Parks and Recreation Department. All other supplies will be furnished. Class fee is $15.00 and includes fishing supplies and a Fishing Club t-shirt.
Adult volunteers are needed and make this class possible. Urban fishing instruction is a DWR approved service project for the Dedicated Hunter Program. Child in program is not required. Please call 801-336-3900 for more information.
