Lap Swim

This program is offered on a daily basis and is geared for all levels of swimmers who are interested in a great aquatic workout. The wave pool has an eight-lane lap swimming area which allows for a large number of lap swimmers.

Deep Water Aerobics

This program is an intense deep water aerobic workout for all abilities. Use flotation equipment to do cardio and work all major muscle groups. The classes are coed and involve participants of all levels who wish to stay in shape thorough the year. This program is usually held in 8ft - 10ft water.

Shallow Water Aerobics

This program is an intense shallow aerobics workout for all abilities. It involves cardio and works all major muscle groups, often involving flotation equipment. The classes are coed and participants are encouraged to workout at their own pace. This class is usually held in 3ft - 5ft water.

Senior Aerobics

This program is a less intense shallow aerobic class for the young at heart who need to keep moving in a safe and fun environment. Flotation equipment is often used throughout the workout. Senior Aerobics classes are coed and involve participants of all levels who wish to stay in shape thorough the year. This program is usually held in 3ft - 5ft water.

Open Wave

In this program, our pool becomes an ocean featuring four different types of waves from around the world. This has become a great family, group, school or church activity.

Lifeguard Certification

Surf 'n Swim offers American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Classes. Classes are offered multiple times throughout the year. Check the 'open registration' tab for upcoming classes or contact Layton Surf 'n Swim at 801-336-3939. Class Format: Step 1. Pretest Individuals interested in obtaining their Lifeguard Certification are required to take and pass the pretest. Pretest includes: swim 300 yards nonstop (100 yards freestyle, 100 yards breaststroke, 100 yards combination of both), brick retrieval from 8' depth, and 2 minute tread without the use of arms. Upon successful pretest completion, individuals can then register for the Lifeguard Certification class. Fee for the Lifeguard Pretest is $15 (non-refundable). Register online or at Surf 'n Swim. Step 2. Lifeguard Certification class. After successful completion of the pretest individuals can register for for the Lifeguard Certification course at the front desk of Surf 'n Swim. Class dates and times vary, contact Surf 'n Swim for class dates and times. Fee for the Lifeguard Certification course is $200. Register at Surf 'n Swim.

Surf 'n Swim Pool Rules

Patrons may be asked to leave at any time for failing to follow rules or lifeguard instructions.

Wave Pool Rules

• No running or horseplay in the facility
• No smoking or alcoholic beverages of any kind in the facility
• Do not sit or hang on pool walls
• Stay off pool ropes and lane lines
• Do not double stack tubes in the pool
• Do not walk along head wall (Wall with Logo)
• No street clothes in the pool
• No food or drinks in the pools
• No glass containers in the facility
• No diving or jumping off the sides of the pools
• No outside tubes or casual floatation devices are permitted in the pools
• No mermaid tails are permitted in the pools
• Lifejackets are only permitted in the 0 feet to 4 feet area
• All patrons must shower before entering the pool and after any bathroom usage
• Diaper changing is only allowed in the designated areas: Bathrooms and changing stations only
• All children 2 years and under MUST have plastic pants and a swim diaper to use the pools
• All children 5 years and under must be within an arm’s reach of an adult when in the pools
• All children 8 years and under must be accompanied by an adult while in the facility
• Any person with or suspected of having a communicable disease, which could be transmitted through the use of the water, will not be allowed to use the pool
• A person having any exposed sub-epidermal tissue, including open blisters, cuts, or other lesions may not use a public pool

While the WAVES are on:

• No one is permitted beyond 4 feet without a tube
• Do not use pool ladders


Small Pool Rules
