Biography
Bettina Smith Edmondson is a lifelong Layton resident who attended Adams Elementary, North Layton Jr. High, and Northridge High. She holds a BS from the University of Utah and an MBA from Weber State University. Bettina has worked in both the public and private sectors, including years as a state employee and currently as a healthcare data consultant.
Elected to the Layton City Council in 2021, Bettina brings local roots and broad professional experience to her role. She's passionate about serving her community, with a strong focus on youth and families, education, civic engagement, public safety, and the arts. For over 20 years, she has mentored young people and served on various community boards.
Rooted in East Layton and currently raising her family in West Layton, she is known as a bridge-builder. Bettina collaborates with citizens, business leaders, policymakers, and the military community to bridge perspectives and build solutions that serve Layton's diverse needs.
Outside of public service, she enjoys traveling, trying new food, and spending time with family. Bettina believes in honest, open communication and encourages residents to reach out with ideas or concerns. With your lasting support, she's committed to continue to build a stronger, more connected Layton.
