Mike Kolendrianos - Council Candidate
Biography
Raised and educated in Layton, my commitment to family and community began at an early age. Watching my parents, grandparents, neighbors, and mentors work together on family farms in West Layton. Supporting each other through hard work and common aspirations so all had the opportunity to succeed.
I attended Layton Elementary, Central Davis Jr. High, Layton High School and graduated from Weber State University. My wife and I have raised three children in Layton and each has graduated from the University of Utah and are working in business, non-profit and academia.
I have a lifetime of experience in agriculture and over 40 years professional experience in multiple fields: government services, industrial construction, housing development, and environmental and water conservation.
I have been a leader in my church and a local philanthropic organization which provides educational scholarships and supports local non-profit healthcare providers for uninsured and underinsured individuals and families.
I strive to educate myself on the matters at hand by seeking advice from industry experts, stakeholders, and the individuals most affected, all with the goal of coming to a balanced and versatile solution.
In my free time, I enjoy working on my family farm, traveling, and fishing Utah's lakes.
