Change in Paramedic Funding

You may have seen, or soon will, a notice of a tax increase. For Layton City residents the tax change will be neutral. How? It’s simply a process change. Next year, the Davis County Sheriff's Office will turn responsibility for paramedic services over to the cities in the county. Which means the paramedic levy will be removed from the County's property tax assessment and added to the City's. Again, this will not result in a tax increase for Layton City residents, as the City already provides

 

Drought Watering Restrictions

In an effort to manage the limited water supply for 2021, Layton City has implemented the following drought restrictions for all outdoor water use in Layton City:

  • NO MORE THAN TWO WATERINGS* PER WEEK.
  • NO OUTDOOR WATERING BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 10 A.M. AND 6 P.M.
  • DELAY INSTALLATION OF NEW LANDSCAPE PROJECTS.

* 1 Watering equals 20 minutes of overhead spray (Pop-up Sprinklers) or 40 minutes of rotor-type heads.

Tests Showed Coliform Bacteria in Layton City Water

Layton City routinely monitors for drinking water contaminates throughout the City’s water system.  Regrettably, 12 percent of the samples taken in April 2021 showed the presence of total coliform bacteria.  The standard is that no more than 5 percent of samples may do so.  This is the first time the City’s water system has exceeded this drinking water standard.  This is not an emergency.
