Plans under way for East Gate Business Park development
Construction on the long anticipated East Gate Business Park development will soon begin. The City Council recently awarded a construction contract to extend Fairfield Road approximately 1,400 feet to the north.
The start of construction on Fairfield Road will allow Alaskan-based land development firm JL Ventures to begin construction on a 91-acre business/industrial park. This business/industrial park will be directly northeast of the Hill Air Force Base "East Gate."
This is the first phase of a 650-acre business park. The East Gate Business Park will be one of the premier industrial parks in Utah and will lure a variety of companies that will bring higher paying jobs to Layton City.
This new development will also help further Gov. John Huntsman Jr.'s economic development "cluster initiative" to bring more aerospace and composite manufacturing related companies to Utah.
