Layton programs, businesses showcased via Web with CGI

LAYTON — Effective communication these days can be as simple as the click of a mouse, a few keystrokes and some bandwidth on the Internet. Whether that communication is about a given municipality, its businesses and economic development or its many qualities and attributes.
To realize this goal, Layton City has recently partnered with CGI Communications, an international leader in municipal marketing to help local businesses get efficient exposure via the Web. Teaming with the company, the City is implementing a new initiative called Community Showcase Program, a Video Tourbook.
CGI will provide state-of-the-art digital media technologies on the City’s Web site, all at no cost to the City or residents. The program will highlight the City’s various assets, attributes, initiatives and local businesses, targeting prospective new residents with information and services.
Layton City now joins some 1,500 other municipalities nationwide in promoting this new way of communicating the City’s robust community and economy. The showcase videos are expected to be available on the City’s Web site by September of this year.
