Layton City wins Ogden holiday parade award

Article Published 12/03/2014

Layton City won the award for “Best Use of Lights” at the Ogden City Holiday Electric Light Parade 2014 on Saturday, Nov. 29.
The Parks Department has proudly participated in this event for over 17 years and is continuing its tradition of excellence.
With an amazing float entry that featured an old-time train atop a mountain, it included billowing smoke and a train whistle.  It was also adorned with Christmas trees, moose and deer standing atop lighted white snow, with “When Christmas Comes to Town” setting the scene.
The float was designed by Mike Jensen and the build team consisted of Mike Jensen, Amanda Myers, Braiden McColloch and Jace Witherby.
The Ogden parade is an annual tradition after Thanksgiving and included dozens of other floats.
