Weber Basin Water update: Reservoirs only at 50 percent

Article Published 04/06/2015

The Weber Basin water supply and snow pack is not anywhere near where it should be. The reservoirs are at about 50 percent capacity -- that is enough for this year, but not the next. As always the Weber Basin Water Conservancy District is highly encouraging conservation principles.
Weber Basin will be enforcing its secondary water policies. They are as follows.
1. No watering between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
2. No excessive water use
3. No significant irrigation disrepair
4. No water runoff from property
5. Homeowners will receive 3 notices for non-compliance of policies. After the 3rd notice, water will be shut off and a service fee of $100 will be assessed for water to be turned on.
These policies apply to residential customers who receive Weber Basin Water secondary water, but we encourage all to follow the same principles. If we have a customer that is non-compliant and results in their water being shutoff we will be sure to notify the city in which they live.
In addition, secondary water deliveries will begin April 13. However, it generally takes one week for the system to be fully charged. Please expect water by April 20. Due to low snow pack, secondary water will be shut off October 1, 2015.
